I figured, to show you where the different species and cites of my Merra are located it would really help to have a map! ٩(◉ᴥ◉)۶

This post is rather just for me to update and explain some details about Merra and its inhabitants :3
- I will update it frequently, so the text below and the map is not final.

A brief Sum-UP:

The history in short is, that humanity messed up their planet and was trying to find a new star to live on.
Desperately, their fleet aimlessly searched the galaxies for a new place to be, until they
discovered Merra, a planet almost 8 times bigger than earth!

It seemed that the planet was just perfect to start a new colony, so humanity started to flood their new home
with new settlements, outposts etc. After almost a decade where humanity had managed to adapt to the new Planet,
they discovered a horrible secret tho:

Echidna, an aggressive virus, native to the planet was able to copy, rewrite and adapt the DNA of its host,
turning any fluids into a highly transformative, cell-mutating substance, that quickly corrupted and transformed
any new host into the same hybrid form as the infected one.

In Horror, humanity watched their genetic material merging with other infected species more and more
until only a few managed to flee back to the few ships they had left in the orbit.

Chaos and mayham spread all over the planet and eventually even reached a few of the Carrier-ships in the orbit,
resulting in a few of them crushing onto the surface.

Today all , species of the Planet still carry the infectious virus within them but managed to seperate themselves into
wild monster-races and sapient creatures that were (almost) harmless to humans -except their infectious nature.

After a few decades, the situation on the planet had calmed down and the remaining humans, which had fled to their ships
in the orbit slowly started to re-populate the massive planet - which was now full of monsters and hybrids.

With most of their technology lost, humanity agreed on a "deal of protection" that granted them safety through the
so called "Inquisition"- at least inside the bigger settlements and cities.

Technology:

Merras Technology-level is very different from region to region. Things like energy cristals and Phelonas-batteries (which work with contained phoenix-fire) are able to power a lot of weapons, vehicles and even towns, while villages further out often struggle to defend themselves against monster-attacks. Other races use water as a source of energy, or are lucky enough to call one of the intact generators (Called turbines) of the crashed human space carriers their own. (...and of course there was a war about the turbines in the past.)

The shark-like NARIOKS are said to be the ones most advanced in technology, since their underwater-breathing allowed them to enter the more intact-human ships that crashed into the ocean. (They also figured out how to trade with humans, who could not reach their lost tech anymore so deeply underwater) - then abducted their scientists that knew how to read the instructions and turned them into Narioks. Constructed for a use in space, some parts of these giant ships are fully intact to this date at the bottom of the ocean.

Reign and the use of weapons:

After the great Turbine wars, the Inquisition, a movement under the reign of empress Nephatary, forbid the use of firearms within towns and settlements. Since these weapons had proven worthless against the highly-armored FERONS of the Inquisition, resistance was futile and the great cities agreed to Nephatarys decree. Today every greater city has at least one Inquisition headquarter that keeps an eye on transformation- and monster-activities to protect the humans they declare as "Pure" - not mentioning that the Ferons need a constant supply of "pure" humans to turn them into sterile, FERON ELITES.

Notewothy cities are:

• Tinora: Capital of the Wolf-Like Ketorans and Necra-Bats. Religion, myst and faith is very strong in this city, even tho the Necras are a very corrupt, occult bunch.

• Lenegast: Home-hive of the Ferons and Breeding-place for Nephatary's Elites - There are no Non-humans/ Non-Ferons allowed in Lenegast, except for diplomats.

• Tyx: The great Rock of the snake-like Tizzians. Ruled by 3 clans, this capital is mostly managed by Lilocs (human/tizzian hybrids), since the clans fight each other most of the time.

• Orizon: Human capital and former Spaceship "Horizon" (The first letter on the hull was destroyed by the crash, which was forgotten over the decades) Due to the Nariok trading tech for informations about the technology of the sunken ships, Orizon is highly fortified today.

• Uro: Submerged Capital of the Nariok and research facility for all kinds of genetic and other experiments. Its basically still a spaceship.

• Valandria: Capital of the Isle of Andria, and home of the Kerro, a proud species of Tigers

• Haven: Capital of the Avox-Griffins and Phelonas Phonixes. The citys-roofes are paved in gold due to their wealth since they are selling their Phelonas batteries to all other merrans. Haven is Ruled by 3 Phelonas, but only 1 is "alive" at a time, while the other 2 regenerate. Their reign rotates every 80 years. marking the "death" of the passing regent with a cataclysmic sky-explosion, that can even be seen in Tyx.

• Skydd: Capital of the Ino-leopards. Inos love the cold and like to stay on their own in the northern realms. They only trade with Acoras from time to time

Jezzica grew up in the sweltering heat of Tyx, where she, like many other Lilocs, was often pushed around by the physically superior Tizzians.
Driven by her strong sense of justice, she one day saved a frightened Skirran from the clutches of the Inquisition, whereupon she had to flee Tyx and couldn't get rid of the ball of fur that followed her wherever she went since then... To this day, Jezzica has no clue about Lu's true form, which was hidden by Enikma by turning her into a pink skirran!
